This paper presents an experimental investigation on the properties of
Polypropylene fiber reinforced self compacting concrete (SCC) with Rice Husk Ash
(RHA) as Pozzolanic filler. The RHA was procured from a rice paddy milling industry
in Manipal, India. Three different percentages of Polypropylene fiber 0.1%, 0.2% and
0.3%, were added to the mix and the results were compared with SCC without fiber.
Compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength tests were
performed for mechanical properties and Slump flow, L-Box, U-Box, V-funnel, and Jring tests for physical (Fresh) properties. The results indicated that addition of RHA
as well as fiber had great effect on fresh properties of SCC (workability, bleeding and
resistance to segregation) and combination of RHA and Polypropylene fiber has
negative effect on its physical properties.
